Research highlights: anti-inflammatory effect of Ginseng

A study in Frontiers of Pharmacology by H. Xu et al. in 2022 looked at a natural compound called Ginsenoside Rb3 (GRb3), which comes from Panax ginseng, known for its health benefits. The researchers wanted to see if GRb3 could reduce inflammation caused by certain molecules in the human body.

They found that GRb3 could lower the levels of these inflammatory molecules in cells, and it worked by blocking a specific pathway involved in inflammation. They also discovered that GRb3 could directly attach to a key molecule in this pathway, preventing it from triggering inflammation. Overall, this study suggests that GRb3 from Panax ginseng might help reduce inflammation offering a potential natural way to combat inflammation-related diseases.
